Umbrella organisation of internationally recognised Scout associations in Germany. It was founded on 01.10.1949 and used to be called the "Ring deutscher Pfadfinderbünde". The CPD, DPSG and the BDP were members at that time. It became part of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM) back on 21.08.1950 as the German umbrella association. In May 1971 the CPD and DPSG ceased working with the BDP and formed the ‘Ring’ alone. When the VCP came into existence, it caused the RdP to disband and then regroup. Since 01.01.1973 the official name has been the "Ring deutscher Pfadfinderverbände" and its members are the VCP, the BdP and the DPSG.

Verband Christlicher Pfadfinderinnen und Pfadfinder (VCP)http://www.vcp.de/ |
Officially founded in Altenberg on 07.10.1929 as a Catholic scouting association. In contrast to many other youth associations, the DPSG was able to withstand mandatory membership of the Hitler Youth in the Nazi era up to 1938 as the then "Gemeinschaft Sankt Georg" because it was under the aegis of the Church. This also accounts for the rapid growth in membership up to 1938. On 06.02.1938 it was dissolved by the Nazis. The work was resumed after the War. Today the DPSG is the largest scouting association in Germany. It is a member of the RdP to which it owes its international recognition by the WOSM.

Pfadfinderinnenschaft Sankt Georg (PSG)http://www.psg-bundesverband.de |
Umbrella association embracing several independent interdenominational scouting organisations in Germany. It came into existence in September 1971 when the DP e.V. merged with the Deutscher Pfadfinderbund (DPB). Soon afterwards the DPB opted out of the DPV which remained in existence. The DPV, and also the BdP, applied to join the RdP when it was started up on 01.01.1973, and the BdP was accepted. The DPV’s application to join the RdP (as an independent association) has been opposed to date by the ‘Ring’ members (VCP, BdP and DPSG).
