Team planners: Where can you get document templates (team members, notices, etc.)?

If you need more inside pages you can order them from the National Resources Office(Bundesmaterialstelle). If you only need a few single pages you might be able to swap them with each other. If you need several pages then buy yourself a set and share out the relevant pages among yourselves. The advantage is that it doesn’t cost much - probably less than if you copy them - and you will have very good print quality. Some pages are also available for download on the website.

Why isn’t there a chatroom in addition to the Forum?

The Forum actually has a thread on the idea of a chatroom for Rangers. The comments made there suggest that this type of facility is yet to find wide acceptance among Rangers, therefore we see no need to offer a chatroom at present. Another reason why there is no Ranger chatroom is that we currently do not have the resources to moderate a facility of this kind on a regular basis.

How can I set up an avatar in the Forum? Who can help me?

You can upload your avatar under “Profile” (right at the top!). The dimensions and size of the avatar must be within certain limits. If you have problems, simply send the image together with the user name to "webmaster@royal-rangers.de" and we’ll do the rest!

Can you send pictures of views in to the photograph competition or do the pictures have to feature RRs?

Any pictures can be sent but photographs featuring Rangers have more chance of winning.

Where can you get a vector graphic/high-quality graphic of the RR emblem or other graphics?

What are Bambini Rangers?

Some outposts run activities for pre-school children in addition to the Royal Rangers programme. Some of these groups are called Bambini Rangers but they are not members of the Royal Rangers outpost.

Why are there no scouting topics (e.g. knots...) on the national website?

This sort of information is contained in our books so every Ranger will have this information anyway. Publishing the information on the website therefore makes no sense and might even infringe copyrights in some cases. Our policy is not to publish printed documents on the website and not to print website contents.

Is it true that Baden-Powell did not necessarily have a liking for the Church? Why are more and more associations focusing on the Christian aspects?

Church cannot always be equated with Christian belief. Baden-Powell made a number of positive statements affirming faith, prayer and a relationship with God. One such statement we might quote relating to Scouts: “We aim for the practice of Christianity in their everyday life and dealings and not merely the profession of its theology on Sundays.” We therefore think it is legitimate to offer the children a holistic programme founded on basic Christian values.

Can you also give donations to the Royal Rangers?

Donations which are not earmarked for a specific purpose can be used for any aspect of the Royal Rangers work in line with the statutes. If the name and address of the donator are given in the note to the payee on the remittance form then the National Administration Centre (verwaltung@royal-rangers.de) will issue a tax-deductible donation receipt.

Is there a German translation for "Royal Rangers"?

No, just the explanatory addition of the words “Christliche Pfadfinder” .

How do I set up a new Royal Rangers outpost?

Is it true that the Royal Rangers organisation is not a member of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement?

As far as we know, the World Organisation only accepts associations which do not have their own international network, but we do work internationally.

What is a senior outpost commander?

The leader of a large outpost (at least 60 children) is called a senior outpost commander. There are not just individual teams within the outpost, but whole outposts, e.g. a Ranger Kids/Discovery Rangers outpost and an Adventure Rangers/Expedition Rangers outpost. Each of these outposts has its own leader. Senior outpost commanders wear white stripes and are only deployed following consultation with the National Commander.

Why is nobody apart from the outpost leader allowed to order things from the Resources Office?

Because the administrative workload is much higher with 3,000 leaders than with 340 outposts. The system also prevents people from placing orders without authorisation. Moreover, it is now possible for any Ranger to order items from the RR shop (see under “Interactive”). However, these orders are still forwarded through the outpost leader.

Is it only permissible for recognised outposts to place orders?

Yes, but it is possible for outsiders to buy literature.

May I sell my RR items on to other people? If so, on what condition?

If you sell these items you will not be in breach of our regulations. We can only take steps to prevent sales if a badge is being used as an emblem or if someone is selling RR articles which have not been sourced from the National Resources Office.
